Inspired by childhood favorites like spy kids, spongebob, and Gaudí's architecture, I created a whimsical playground and interactive museum. Using Rhino 365 and Epic Game's Twin Motion, I moved from sketches to digital models, combining colorful, imaginative elements with interactive features to create a vibrant, fun space for all ages.
My playground design was a tapestry of nostalgia and artistic inspiration, incorporating beloved childhood classics such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Spy Kids, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. These animated worlds, with their vibrant characters and imaginative landscapes, served as the foundation for my concept. I incorporated Antoni Gaudí's unique architecture from Barcelona, known for its vibrant colors, whimsical shapes, and intricate patterns. This fusion resulted in a playground design that was not only visually appealing but also included interactive elements such as water fountains, slides, and swings. My vision was to create a space that would captivate both children and adults, providing a safe and exciting environment for play and exploration.
The journey to bring this playground to life began with extensive research on modern and whimsical playgrounds, drawing inspiration from existing structures that defied conventional design. This research phase turned into a flurry of sprint sketches, in which I quickly conceptualized a variety of ideas and structures, allowing creativity to flow unhindered. The most compelling sketches were refined into a final drawing, which I then digitized. This digital transformation was about more than just capturing the design; it was also about discovering the materials that would bring this imaginative space to life, taking into account both aesthetic appeal and functional durability.
The final and most exciting stage of this project was bringing the playground design into 3D visualization. I built the digital model of the playground in Rhino 365, ensuring that every element was accurately represented. The design was then brought to life using Epic Games' Twin Motion rendering software. This enabled me to not only see but also experience the playground in a virtual environment, ensuring that every detail was consistent with my original vision. The end result was a one-of-a-kind and exciting playground that perfectly captured the essence of my childhood inspirations and architectural admiration, providing a space where imagination and reality intersected.
